Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Truckie collects, how it is used, how it is stored, and how it is protected.
Who operates Truckie
Truckie is a job diary, diesel tracker and true-profit tool built for Australian owner-driver subcontractors. Truckie is operated from Victoria, Australia. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at gettruckie@gmail.com.
This Privacy Policy will be updated once the business name and ABN details are finalised.
What information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account details — your first name, email address and login credentials when you create an account. For Fleet drivers, this includes the username created for you by your fleet account owner.
- Job, truck and business data — the information you enter into the app, including jobs, loads, rates, hours, diesel and AdBlue usage, fixed costs, variable expenses, odometer readings, location data captured during job logging, uploaded documents such as dockets, receipts, or job-related records, and the true-profit calculations Truckie produces from this data.
- Fleet and driver data — where an account is part of a Fleet plan, we also process the truck, driver and job-review records needed to run that fleet, including which driver is assigned to which truck, job pricing set by the account owner, and wage entries the owner records.
- Device, usage and diagnostic data — basic technical information needed for the app to function correctly and to help us identify and fix problems.
Location data
GPS location is only collected when location features are enabled or used during job logging, such as recording a pickup or delivery address. Truckie does not continuously track your location outside of these specific in-app features.
When you open Truckie, we use your IP address to determine your approximate country location for the purpose of applying correct regional settings such as currency. This is country-level only — we do not store your IP address or precise location. IP address data is provided by IPinfo (ipinfo.io).
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your information to:
- Provide the core features of the app — job tracking, diesel tracking and true-profit calculations.
- Maintain your account and keep your records synced and backed up across your devices.
- Process subscription payments and manage your subscription.
- Send you account-related emails such as confirmation, password reset and important service notices.
- Improve the app and fix bugs.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
Payment information
Payments may be processed by Stripe, Google Play Billing, or another authorised payment provider. Truckie does not store your full card details. We retain only limited subscription information (such as your plan, currency, status and billing period) needed to manage your account. Your subscription is billed in your local currency where supported (AUD, USD, GBP, EUR, CAD or NZD, detected from your approximate location) — GST is applied only to Australian-dollar billing, as GST is an Australian tax; customers billed in another currency are responsible for any local sales tax or VAT that applies to them.
Fleet accounts and drivers
Truckie's Fleet plan lets one account owner manage multiple trucks and drivers. If you use Truckie as a driver on someone else's Fleet account, your account owner can see the job, load, wage and location records you enter, because reviewing and pricing that work is a core function of the Fleet plan. Your account owner is responsible for handling your personal information lawfully in their own dealings with you (for example, as your employer or the business you subcontract to); Truckie processes this data on the account owner's instructions, in the same way we process any user's data, as described throughout this policy. If you are a driver and have questions about how your fleet uses your data, please raise this with your account owner first, though you are always welcome to contact us directly at gettruckie@gmail.com about your own account.
Third-party services we use
Truckie relies on the following trusted third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
- Stripe — subscription payment processing.
- Vercel — website and app hosting.
- IPinfo — IP address geolocation used to detect your country for regional settings (currency). No personal data is stored by us from this lookup.
Each of these providers handles data under their own privacy and security policies.
Cloud storage and backups
Your records are stored in the cloud via Supabase so they stay backed up and available across your devices. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Where your data is stored
Depending on the server locations used by Supabase, Stripe and Vercel, some of your data may be stored or processed on servers located outside Australia — including in Singapore, where our database is currently hosted. You understand that your information may be stored or processed outside Australia and outside your own country, including by cloud service providers used to operate Truckie. Where we transfer personal information of users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or Switzerland to a country that has not been recognised as providing an adequate level of protection, we rely on our service providers' own safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses offered by Supabase, Stripe and Vercel) to protect that transfer.
European users (EEA, UK and Switzerland) — your GDPR rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the following applies in addition to the rest of this policy:
- Legal basis for processing — we process your account and job data because it is necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the app and your subscription), based on our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving Truckie, to comply with legal obligations (such as tax and payment record-keeping), or with your consent where we ask for it.
- Your rights — you have the right to request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data; to restrict or object to certain processing; to receive a copy of your data in a portable format; and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. You can exercise most of these rights yourself in Settings, or by contacting gettruckie@gmail.com.
- Complaints — you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe we have not handled your personal data lawfully.
- International transfers — see "Where your data is stored" above.
Truckie is a small operator based in Australia. If required to appoint a representative in the EU or UK under Article 27 of the GDPR or the equivalent UK provision, we will do so and update this policy with their contact details; in the meantime, you can reach us directly at gettruckie@gmail.com for any GDPR-related request.
Data retention
If you pause or cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 30 days, giving you time to resume without losing your records. If you delete your account, your data is removed from active systems, though residual copies may remain in routine backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
Truckie may retain certain information for as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, process billing, provide support, or maintain accurate accounting records.

You can delete your Truckie account at any time directly within the app:

When you delete your account:

If you are unable to access the app or need help deleting your account, contact us at gettruckie@gmail.com and we will process your deletion request.
Exporting your data
You can export your job records at any time using the Export Data feature in Settings, which lets you download your records as CSV or PDF.
Accessing or Correcting Your Information
You can review and update your account details at any time within the app under Settings. If you would like to request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you, contact us at gettruckie@gmail.com.
Privacy Complaints

If a complaint cannot be resolved directly with us, you may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Marketing and early access communications
If you register for early access via our waitlist, we may email you about Truckie's launch and related updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing or early access communications at any time using the unsubscribe link where available, or by contacting gettruckie@gmail.com.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure account login and encryption in transit and at rest through our service providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children and minors
Truckie is intended for use by working adults and is not designed for or directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through an in-app notice. Continued use of Truckie after an update means you accept the revised policy.
